Flammability TEP
TEP is an effective phosphorus-based flame retardant and additive with plasticizer properties that is widely used in polyurethane systems, coating and resin applications. This product, which has a chemical structure of Triethyl Phosphate, is used to increase fire resistance and strengthen heat stability in both rigid and flexible foam systems.
TEP slows down combustion reactions by acting as a radical scavenger in the gas phase when in contact with flame. It also creates a protective layer on the surface by promoting carbonization. In this way, the deformation of the product under flame is delayed, heat transfer is reduced and smoke formation is limited.
Thanks to its high purity, it is perfectly compatible with polyurethane formulations; It reduces the mixture viscosity and increases the workability of the system. TEP is an environmentally friendly alternative thanks to its halogen-free structure and offers more sustainable solutions than chlorine-containing flame retardants such as TCPP or TDCP.
Triethyl Phosphate (TEP), supplied by Areks Kimya, offers high-performance non-flammability, process stability and environmental compatibility in polyurethane systems.
